A sim league is a multiplayer league inside a sports simulation game, where each human runs one team, a commissioner runs the league, and the computer plays the games on a shared schedule. It is the simulation equivalent of a fantasy league: the same group of friends, but with a cap, a draft, contracts and seasons that are simulated rather than scored from real games.
In HoopSim a sim league has 30 clubs and 1 to 30 human GMs; every club without a human is run by an AI GM. The league has one shared clock: it only moves when the commissioner advances it, by hand or on an auto-advance cadence, and every game on the advanced days is played at once for everyone. GMs set their depth charts and game plans ahead, mark themselves Ready, and get the results by push. Leagues go on season after season, with a lottery, a two-round draft, free agency and training camp between them.
