Per-36 minutes stats scale a player's totals to what they would be in 36 minutes a game, so a bench player on 18 minutes can be compared to a starter on 36.
HoopSim's player stats pages have a PER 36 view next to averages and totals. It helps most with the question a GM actually faces: what would this player's production look like with more minutes? It cannot answer it completely, because minutes in HoopSim are not free. A player pushed past their minutes tires faster and loses quickness, then skills; a sixth man promoted to 36 minutes faces starters instead of second units; and the ball goes to your key players first. Per-36 is the start of the case for a bigger role, and the depth chart is where you test it.
