Win probability
Every finished game has a win probability line: each team's chance to win at every moment, worked out from the score, the time left, who has the ball and how the two teams have played this season. It is read from the game's stored play-by-play after the fact, so it never changes a result.
You see it in three places. In the live room, every card on the wall of games shows the favourite's live percentage as the night plays out, and the game you open carries a live win-probability strip. The box score opens with the full chart: the pregame odds, the number of lead changes, how low the eventual winner sank if they were ever deep in trouble, and the three biggest single-play swings numbered on the line. Tap a swing (the dot or its row) and Court View opens at that play. Court View also shows the percentage at the point you've scrubbed to.
Watching together and replay controls
The live room shows how many GMs are watching now (anyone whose room checked in during the last few seconds), with their names, or tells you that you're the only one watching.
In Court View, the bar under the court is a timeline you can drag. It is marked with period breaks, made threes, blocks, timeouts and big scoring runs, with the three biggest runs labelled. Tap any marker to jump there. Playback runs at ½×, 1×, 2× or 4×; it starts at 2× and your phone remembers the last speed you picked.
Spoiler-free mode
Spoiler-free is one setting for you alone, on your Account page under Replays. Court View has a switch for it too, and the box-score cover has a Turn off button. When it's on, a finished game's result stays off your game pages until you watch it or reveal it:
- The box score shows the matchup but not the score, stat lines, play-by-play, analysis, highlights, recap or win-probability chart. Watch in 3D, or tap Reveal the score for that game only.
- Court View opened from that page cuts the play-by-play feed at the play on screen and greys out markers ahead of you.
- Highlights of the night is covered when your own team's game that night is covered.
Watching a replay through to FINAL counts as watched. Turning it on only covers games finished from about a day before you switched it on, never your whole archive. It does not hide the Dash, the Wire, chat, pushes, splashes or scoreboards elsewhere.
Shot quality
Every shot gets an expected make chance (xFG): how often an average shooter makes that look. It uses only what anyone watching could see: where the shot came from, what kind of shot it was, the action that set it up and how deep into the possession it came. It never uses a player's ratings, and the assist isn't used because only makes name a passer. The rates come from every finished game in HoopSim and are refreshed monthly.
- Points per look: what your shots are worth for an average shooter. It measures the shot, not the shooter.
- Shot making: how much better or worse than expected you finished those looks (effective FG% minus expected).
- Good looks missed: shots worth 55% or better that didn't fall. Tough shots made: 36%-or-less looks that went in.
- xPTS (box score column): the points an average shooter would score on a player's shots, plus their free throws made.
Find them on the box score's shot-quality strip, each player card's Shot Quality section (by zone too) and Team › Stats, for and against, with league ranks.
Lineups
Team › Lineups shows how each group did together, from the play-by-play. It's on every team's page, since it is built from public results. Offensive, defensive and net ratings are per 100 possessions, counted as FGA + 0.44·FTA − offensive rebounds + turnovers.
- Most-used fives, and the best and worst fives by net rating. Only fives over a minutes bar (about one minute per game played, shown on the page) qualify.
- Two-man pairs: each pair's net rating together compared with the rest of the team's minutes (a higher bar).
- On / off: the team's net rating with each player on the floor and off it.
- Vs defenses: points per possession against man, help man, zone, trap and a heavy full-court press, next to the league.
Tap a five for its sheet: four factors for and against, plus its last games together. Games from before lineup tracking began are left out, and the page says from when.
Current roster, All, and the best five
Lineups opens on Current roster: only fives, pairs and on/off rows made of players still on the team. Pairs and on/off still count every minute those players shared, even with a teammate who has since left. Switch to All to see every five that played this season. Team totals and Vs defenses always cover the whole season.
The Best five so far callout on your Depth Chart and Game Plan rotation chart names your best five over the bar, only if all five are still on your roster, beside how your current starters have done together. It links to Lineups and never changes your chart.
Traded players' stats
A player traded during a season has one line per team. On the player card's Career tab that season shows a TOT row (the whole season) plus one row per team, oldest first, archived seasons included; only the TOT row counts toward career totals. The Overview has a With <team> · Season switch, opening on the current team's line.
Team › Stats and team leaders count only the games a player played for that team. League-wide leaders use the full season.
