Award ballots

In a multiplayer league, every GM with a team gets a ballot for the season awards. Ballots open the day the playoffs start, on the Awards page's Ballot tab, and close when Awards Night starts (or when the held awards are released, if no Awards Night is ever run). You can save one award at a time and edit your picks until the close. You get reminders two days and two hours before Awards Night.

Solo leagues have no ballots: their awards are simply announced at the Finals.

What you vote on

  • MVP: rank your top 5.
  • Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man, Most Improved and Coach of the Year: rank your top 3 each.
  • All-League: three teams of five, 15 players in all.

All-Defense teams are not on the ballot; they stay with the media's stat ballot alone. Candidates come with their box-score line and team record only, never a rating, and you can sort them by the stat, team record or name.

You can't vote for your own players (anyone credited to your club for the season or on your roster now) or your own head coach. They show greyed out. Other GMs can still vote for them.

How the vote is counted

Each award is half GM ballots, half the media's stat ballot, by vote share. Ballot slots score points as shown on the tab: MVP 10, 7, 5, 3, 1; the three-deep awards 5, 3, 1; All-League 5 for each 1st-team pick, 3 for each 2nd and 1 for each 3rd. A candidate's GM share is their points over all GM points cast. The media ballot ranks the field by the same stat order the awards have always used, scored on the same scale. The two shares are averaged. Ties go to more GM first-place votes, then the better media rank. All-League takes the top 15 by final share, five to a team.

Before the close, everyone sees how many GMs have cast a ballot; only the commissioner sees who, and once Awards Night is scheduled they can extend the close by 24 hours, or nudge GMs who haven't voted.

PP and the reveal

A full ballot (every award ranked) pays +25 PP the first time you cast it. Each award where your first choice wins pays +10 PP more (All-League doesn't count for this).

On Awards Night every award is revealed one at a time, and once an award is announced every ballot for it is public, so the league can see who voted for whom. The MVP reveal also posts a card in League chat with how the vote split.

Mock drafts

Before every rookie draft, each GM can mock the 14 lottery picks. The mock opens as soon as the lottery is drawn, on the Draft page's Mock Draft tab. You can save a draft as you go; submitting needs all 14 picks. Your builder shows your own scouts' reads, and the public consensus for prospects you haven't scouted.

Mocks are sealed: nobody sees anyone else's picks, only who is in. They lock the moment the draft starts, and every mock goes public when pick 1 is on the clock. The Wire runs its own mock, scored alongside the GMs' but not ranked. There are no mocks for a league's creation draft, and none in solo leagues.

Mock scoring and prizes

After pick 14, every submitted mock is scored:

  • Exact pick: 6 points.
  • Within 2 picks: 2 points.
  • Right team, wrong slot: 1 point.

Ties go to more exact picks, then whoever submitted first. Submitting a mock pays +15 PP; the top three win +100, +60 and +40 PP. The results show as a leaderboard on the Mock Draft tab, in a Wire story and on a League office card in League chat.

Example: you nail picks 1 and 2, have your 5th pick go 4th, and put a player at 9 who goes 12th to the same team, which holds both picks. That's 6 + 6 + 2 + 1 = 15 points.
